Hole in One - Ron Pickett

Congratulations to Ron Pickett who aced the 3rd Hole today!  It was Ron's first hole in one after 38 years of membership at Churchill-Waverley.  Starting on the 3rd hole, not only was it Ron's first shot of the day, but the first for his group to get them off to a fantastic start!

Ladies Golf News

We are EXTREMELY sad that Veena Mali is stepping down from her co-captain role.  She has been fantastic to work with, and we so appreciate all the things she has done for the club, and for the ladies in particular.  She has stepped in whenever and wherever needed. Her knowledge of golf and of the things needed to be done behind the scenes has been particularly appreciated.  She is very organised and switched on!!!  It has been my great privilege to share this role with Veena.  Thanks for everything Veena. I know where to find you J

Our Christmas golf day yesterday, was a great fun ambrose game, which everyone seemed to enjoy.  Fantastic scores from the winners (58.5 Nett), Veena Mali, Jothi Naidoo, Di Huf, Jenny Bramich, Lynda Wilkins.  NTPs Heather Richards & Kay Lee.  Wonderful Christmas outfits everyone!!

It was great to see some new members join us.  Kimchi Dao, Daisy Oh and Heather Read.  We are so thrilled you could be part of our special day.

The raffle and events committee did a wonderful job on the day. We all know who you are!! The room looked fabulous, everyone went home with a Christmas gift and many went home with wonderful raffle prizes.  Thanks to the ladies for the donations, Jenny Bramich for her adornments on the gifts, and Carmel McDougall for her contributions to the gifts.  You are SOOOO greatly appreciated.

Thanks to Tim for a delicious meal.  We all appreciated it.  And to the bar staff and others who prepared the room for us.

And thanks to the following for your input throughout the year for the following:

Tania Walsh – for representing us at Board level, for preparing the schedule on the back of the toilet doors.  And for being a good sounding board to run things past.  Also thank you for organising last year's Rich River trip – and the FANTASTIC prizes.

Roberta McQuillan – thanks for so ably managing our Charity and Bowl events.  You do a FABULOUS job, liaising with the clubs, and ensuring the players pay Catherine, and Catherine pays the clubs.

Joan Palmer for showing her flair for managing & preparing the trophy table – for today – and for all prize-giving days.

Kaylene Ellis and Ann Wadsley for introducing and running our new St Patricks day fun event.

Yvonne Daniel, Veena Mali & Heather Richards for recruiting men for our mixed events.

Julie Nugent for organising celebrations for the special birthdays, and always acknowledging the birthday girls.  And for her efforts in organising our contingent to the Gippsland Lakes Classic. Get better quickly Julie.  We need you back.

Mitch Allen for looking after us for our special events, especially finding more players for our mixed events, and for organising the trophies for yesterday

Catherine in admin, for doing such a great job, looking after our bowls and charity events

Matthew for his ongoing support and his quick response turnaround.  Always helpful and considered.

Jemma and staff for setting up the rooms & tables and for co-ordinating our events

Troy the groundstaff and the volunteers for all the HARD work they do to look after both our courses

Feeling very grateful to everyone for their contributions to the club.  From Veena and I, we wish everyone the best Christmas and New Year, and look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
