Pace of Play - 'Par' Time GuidanceWe have recently received some feedback regarding slow play across both courses. After reviewing several instances, we would like to provide some guidance around acceptable pace of play. You’ll often hear the phrase “keep up with the group in front.” While helpful as a general guide, not all groups play at the same pace, and this can sometimes create unrealistic expectations or lead to other issues. Our timesheets are designed to support a steady and consistent flow of play. When groups play significantly faster than ‘Par’ time, it can lead to congestion on shorter holes and delays when catching groups that are yet to tee off. Our focus is on maintaining an overall ‘Par’ round time, with the following expectations: A round should be completed in approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes (2 hours and 10 minutes per nine holes). Be ready to play when it is your turn. “Ready Golf” is encouraged where safe to do so (except in match play, where order of play applies). Maintain your group’s position on the course rather than trying to match the pace of faster groups ahead. Be mindful of time spent on practice swings, reading putts, and searching for balls. If practical, please allow faster groups to play through to help maintain overall flow.
Pace of play is a shared responsibility, and a consistent, reasonable flow ensures an enjoyable experience for all members. We also remind members that maintaining a safe and welcoming environment is our top priority. If any issues arise on course, please avoid approaching other players directly and instead contact the Pro Shop, where our staff will be happy to assist. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we continue to promote a balanced and fair pace of play across both courses. Golf Operations and Match Committee |
